Attorneys. Counselors. Business Partners.
Charlston “Chase” De Grood is an associate attorney in Goodspeed Merrill’s corporate practice group. Chase advises business and individuals in a wide variety of areas, including mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiations, capital raising, and day-to-day corporate matters, with an emphasis on securities law and the rules and regulations surrounding investment advisers.
Prior to law school, Chase worked as a financial services professional and obtained numerous securities licenses and certifications, including his Series 6 and Series 63 licenses. He continued this focus in law school by working for the in-house legal departments of NBH Bank and Empower. While attending the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, Chase was a member of the Denver Law Review, wrote for the school’s corporate law blog, and, upon graduating, received a certificate in Corporate and Commercial Law in recognition of completing extensive coursework focusing on corporate law, securities law, and asset management regulation.
Chase joined Goodspeed Merrill as a law clerk while he was still in law school and was thrilled to continue with the Firm upon graduating and passing the Colorado Bar Exam.
In his free time, Chase enjoys cooking, trying new restaurants, working out, playing video games, and training in MMA, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, and Muay Thai.
